Port Congestion Score

Real-time port congestion analysis powered by maritime AIS data. Make informed decisions about port calls with accurate, data-driven congestion metrics.

Why Use Port Congestion Score?

Real-time Analysis

Get up-to-the-minute congestion data based on live AIS vessel tracking and port activity.

Global Coverage

Access congestion data for over 7,400 ports worldwide using standardized UN/LOCODE identifiers.

Data-Driven Decisions

Optimize routing, reduce waiting times, and plan port calls with confidence using objective metrics.

How It Works

1

Enter the Port UNLOCODE

Enter the 5-character UN/LOCODE for any port worldwide. For example, NLRTM for Rotterdam, SGSIN for Singapore, or CNSHA for Shanghai.

2

Algorithm Fetches Real-time Data

Our system queries the DataDocked Maritime API to gather current vessel positions, port calls, expected arrivals, and area traffic data.

3

Receive Your Congestion Score

Get a comprehensive congestion score (0-100) with detailed breakdowns of vessels in port, waiting vessels, expected arrivals, and traffic patterns.

Our Scoring Methodology

The Port Congestion Score is calculated using a weighted algorithm that combines multiple real-time data points from AIS vessel tracking. Each component is normalized and weighted to produce a final score between 0 (no congestion) and 100 (critical congestion).

Data Sources

All data is sourced from the Data Docked Maritime API, which provides access to real-time AIS (Automatic Identification System) data from vessels worldwide. The API aggregates vessel positions, port call records, and maritime traffic patterns to enable accurate congestion analysis.
